Designed in Melbourne. Handcrafted in India.
Hello, I am Sophie, the founder behind Say The Label.
Clothing that merges artisanal craftsmanship with a sense of modern femininity. Pieces that are expressive, considered, and made to be worn again and again.
Before starting Say I spent years immersed in the world of global textile design. After studying Textile Design and graduating as Australian Textile Designer of the Year, I spent three years working in the global textile industry. What stayed with me most was a deep admiration for traditional craftsmanship, particularly the techniques I encountered in India, where textiles are not just materials, they are stories.
I started Say to create what I felt was missing in most wardrobes. In a time where everyone seems to be dressing the same, chasing trends and speed, Say is a quiet rebellion. We take everyday essentials and elevate them, with considered silhouettes, hand-finished details, and stories stitched into every piece.
Say is for the ones who dress with intention. Who find meaning in the little things. Who want to wear something that says something.
The real story of how Say came to be.

Sophie in Melbourne, and the hands that finish every piece.
Draws every piece, chooses every fabric, and answers every email herself. Australian Textile Designer of the Year.
The artisans who French-knot, blanket-stitch and hand-finish each garment. Sophie visits them every season and they are part of every design conversation.
Every order gives.
Each time you place an order with Say The Label, we donate $1 to a project we believe in, through i=Change, a Certified B Corp giving platform. The dollar comes from us, not from you, and 100% of it reaches the project on the ground. The part we love most: after checkout, you choose where your dollar goes.
Our pieces are designed in Melbourne and made by hand in India. Giving back to the communities our garments come from has always felt like the least we can do.
A dollar on its own is small. A week of Say orders is not. You pick the project after checkout, and i=Change shows you where it landed.
